Membership to the Institute of Printing (Malaysia Branch) is open to any individual employed in the printing packaging and related industries. There are five categories of membership for those who wish either to become associated with the Institutes or to train towards qualified membership and in the opinion of the Committee of the Institute, have attained an appropriate level of qualification.

Applications for admission to the institute, or those who wish to transfer their membership category within it, should complete and submit to the Malaysian Office the appropriate form available from the Honorary Secretary.

MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

The Requirement for admission are:

A) STUDENT

Anyone seeking admission to the membership category of Student within the Institute requires:- Attending (or be accepted) as a student for any printing or print related full-time course or part-time sandwich course, as may be approved by the Committee.

B) GRADUATE MEMBER (Grad. IOP)

Those seeking admission or transfer to the membership category of Graduate within the Institute require:- To have successfully completed a degree level course approved by the committee.

C) ASSOCIATE (Assoc. IOP)

Applicants seeking admission or transfer to the membership category of Member within the Institute require: To have had suitable experience in printing or a related activity and produced evidence to the satisfaction of the Committee of an active interest in the science, art and/or professional management of printing.

D) MEMBER (MIOP)

Applicants seeking admission or transfer to the membership category of Member with the Institutes requires the board’s approval.

E) FELLOW (FIOP)

Applicants seeking admission or transfer to the membership category of Fellow within the Institute require: To have the qualifications necessary to become a Member and/or to have made a significant contribution to printing or a related industry, and to have been (and still be) engaged in a position of responsibility in or connected with printing for a period that the Committee considers sufficient. The Committee thus requires all Fellows to have made a distinctive contribution to science, art and/or professional management of printing.

F) RETIRED

Members irrespective of categories who has retired from printing or related activity.

ENTRANCE FEES AND SUBSCRIPTIONS

The entrance fees and membership subscriptions are payable on admission to the Institutes and should be sent with completed application form. Membership fees for the Malaysia Branch members are as follows:
